Philip J. Bresnahan began his lighting career by selling general electric flash cubes in Tennessee. He was quickly promoted to large lamps with state lamp contracts to sell to school districts. This led him back to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he joined a college classmate from Marquette University selling lighting fixtures. After doing this for a while, the Miller Lighting Company hired him as a salesman in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Philip accepted the challenge in 1962. In 1975 after 14 successful years as a Miller Lighting employee, he opted for in cooperation and signed several other manufactures. In 1982, he welcomed the second generation as his sons Thomas Bresnahan and Patrick Bresnahan joined the agency. After 31 years, he retired in 1986. He passed away in 2005. The agency he founded continues on today.
